The London Majors needed two extra innings to beat the Brantford Red Sox 7-5 in the only Wednesday night game played in the Intercounty Baseball League.
Derrik Strzalkowski doubled, singled twice and notched four RBI's scoring in the win. Ryan Lapensee would double twice and single, while Adwin Springer singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in a run, helping the Majors to a 3-2 record.
Hard hitting Cleveland Brownlee had three singles and a double with two runs scored, while Paul LaMantia also singled twice, scored once and added one RBI.
Majors reliever Taylor Carr took the win, giving up three hits and no runs with one walk over the final 2 2/3 innings. His counterpart, Red Sox reliver Stefan Strecker was credited with the loss, allowing five hits and two runs - one earned - with two walks in three innings of work.
The Majors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning before Brantford notched runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. The Majors replied with a four-run eighth inning before the Red Sox tied the game in the bottom of the ninth.
The 5-2 Red Sox have now lost two straight, both at the hands of the Majors. The Majors welcome the Hamilton Cardinals once again on Friday evening at 7:35 pm.
