About Me
Welcome to my own little corner of cyberspace. My name is Victor Mario Kaisar and I'm currently doing what I love.
Presently I'm living in a little corner of Alberta - in the town of Athabasca, where I'm the morning news anchor/reporter at 94.1 The River.
I'm a graduate of the Television News Program and the Journalism Broadcast program at Fanshawe College; where I served as the Sports Director on 106.9 The X for the 2012/2013 school year. Those three years were an absolute treat, telling people the stories that matter, when they matter and most importantly why they matter.
My time at Fanshawe was special, especially since I graduated on the President's Honour Roll in both 2013 and 2014, being named to the Dean's Honour Roll in each of my six semesters - as well as winning an award for my talk show on Fanshawe President Dr. Howard Rundle.
But the real icing on the cake was being named the 2014 recipient of the BNN/Jim O'Connell scholarship for a documentary on the Leamington Heinz Plant's Closure.
I was born in Colva, Goa, India on August 15, which also happens to be India's Independence Day. Growing up in Calcutta, India, I attended Don Bosco School, Park Circus from 1997 until graduation in 2011. During my school days, I was always drawn towards English and the arts, and not so much towards sciences, although I do have a background in science. Somewhere along the lines, in grade 11, it became clear to me: journalism was my calling.
And so after graduating high school I moved to the other side of the world, to Canada. It's been an exhilarating experience so far, and I can't seem to have enough of it.
I've got big ambitions and experience in sports journalism, covering everything from the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League, the London Lightning in the National Basketball League of Canada, the London Nationals in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, tons of OCAA college, OUA university sports and more.
Additionally, I've also been volunteering during my spare time, be it at Rogers TV in London; from operating camera's and audio boards to hosting London Majors baseball broadcasts, or with Metro News London for a short period of time. Sportslive24 came knocking where I've had stints as a colour commentator for the London Lightning and a play by play commentator for OCAA Women's Volleyball Championships in Peterborough, Ontario and the CCAA National Badminton Championships in Barrie, Ontario.
My biggest motivation in life is simple: "Do What You Love..."
I love what I do.
