seth griffith signs with boston
Apr 10th, 2013
Hardwork does pay off. Ask London Knights forward Seth Griffith.
Griffith signed an entry level deal with the Boston Bruins Tuesday night. The Knights' star forward agreed to sign with the NHL club in the middle of a second-round playoff series with the rival Kitchener Rangers, which continues with Game 4 Wednesday night in Kitchener.
The 20-year-old Wallaceburg native has one goal and four points in seven playoff games so far and is London's nominee for the OHL's most outstanding player this year, scoring 33 goals and 81 points before missing the final 14 games after breaking a bone in his hand.
Such was Griffith's dominance in the regular season that he still took home the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the OHL’s top scoring right winger, for his 81 points.
He was drafted in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, after being passed over in his first year of eligibility.
