London to honour the lightning

London Lightning head coach Micheal Ray Richardson was named NBL coach of the year for the second straight season, but had to share the honour with Summerside coach Joe Salerno.
Rodney Buford was named sixth man of the year while teammate Marvin Phillps was named the best newcomer in the league. Phillips was also the all-star game's most valuable player hitting for 37 points and 14 rebounds.
The Lightning meanwhile are planning a celebration Tuesday at the Budweiser Gardens.
While most of the team made their way back to London following the game 4 victory, several, along with managers and coach Michael Ray Richardson, were in St. John, N.B., on Sunday for the NBL’s all-star game.
Tim Ellis, Marvin Phillips, Elvin Mims and Antwi Atuahene were on the Central Division All Star team and are expected to head home Monday along with Richardson.
A time for the celebration hasn't been set, but it will be after the Lightning are hounored at a 4 p.m. city council meeting.
