Three first-half goals at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga propelled FC London to a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Lynx.
Jordan Ayris put London ahead after just 15th minutes, beating the goalkeeper one-on-one. The Lynx equalized in the 23rd minute, but Denver Spearman put London ahead once again in the 37th minute after he chipped the ‘keeper, in what turned out to be the game winner.
Aaron Boyd secured the three points as he scored a penalty kick in the second minute of first half injury time, improving the defending Premier Development League Champions record to 2-0 this season.
It was London’s ninth win over the Lynx in 11 PDL meetings. They've improved their road record to 5-0-1 all-time against Toronto.
London now prepares for their home opener against the Chicago Inferno on May 31 at the German-Canadian Club. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
